Trying Times
For those of you who know me, you will know that a camera is never far away. I tend to document every aspect of my life. During happy occasions, so I take photos so I can remember. During strange and unusual events, I take photos so I do not forget. During sad times, I use my camera as a kind of wall. It sits between me and reality, and therefore is my way of coping.
The last two weeks have been fairly devastating for me. On Saturday, the 29th of Jan, a CT scan revealed that a cough my mother could not shake was actually a growth in her right lung; the cough, a result of fluid build up. A subsequent lung biopsy revealed the worst. The growth was cancerous and had metastasized throughout her lungs. She has never smoked, very rarely drinks, and exercises more than I do.
Ever since, I have been with her; acting as a carer and helping manage appointment times. Here are some images. Documenting through photography is my way of coping.
